Raffa Yoga to go ‘Undercover’

Ring in the season of giving with the power of yoga. The students of the Raffa Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training Program will be hosting a power vinyasa class to benefit Project Undercover.

The Cranston-based charity provides undergarment necessities for children in need. One-hundred percent of the class fee and donations will go directly to Project Undercover. The event takes place on Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. There is a $20 registration fee.

Those who cannot attend can still support the charity by delivering new and unopened packages to Raffa Yoga up until the day of the event.

Acceptable items include diapers, socks, underwear, under shirts and onesies for children under the age of seven. Please look at www.projectunderdcover.org for more information.

For each item brought to Raffa Yoga, donors will receive a raffle ticket for the “Raffale” that will take place the evening of the event.

Raffa Yoga is not your typical yoga studio – it’s a destination for relaxation and healing. The eco-friendly yoga complex has three yoga studios. In 2000, Raffa Yoga opened their doors on Reservoir Avenue with just 10 classes a week. Now at 19 Sharpe Drive in Cranston, they offer more than 80 classes a week.

Classes range from heated athletic power yoga to stretch and chair yoga. Raffa offers a yoga style for all walks of life. In addition to mat-based yoga classes, Raffa is the only studio in Rhode Island to be a training site and offer Antigravity Yoga. Unlike traditional yoga, Antigravity Yoga is done in silk hammocks.

The complex is also home to Urban Sweat, the only active relaxation center in the state offering six heated healing rooms to restore every part of the body from the inside out. Urban Sweat also offers 21 massage and therapeutic treatment rooms, ranging from massages, to reflexology and facials, as well as a raw juice and food bar, along with a stylish boutique.

Those interested in visiting Raffa Yoga may call 463-3335 or visit www.raffayoga.com.
